Program Descriptions
Anxiety Management
This group is a free, six week course for teenagers to discuss their experiences with anxiety and to learn effective methods for anxiety management.
Healthy Relationships
The Healthy Relationships group is a six week group that discusses the characteristics that create healthy and unhealthy relationships and friendships. The group also discusses respectful communication and setting healthy boundaries.
Conflict Resolution
The conflict resolution group is a free, six week group, in various Jefferson County school districts. The conflict resolution group teaches teens the difference between conflict and bullying and helps them to identify positive interventions for both.
Peer Relationships
This group is a free, six week course for teenagers to discuss their experiences with peers and effective ways to communicate and resolve conflict.
Teen Nights
Atlas will begin hosting Teen Nights as an opportunity for teens to gather, socialize and have fun in a safe, drug and alcohol free, environment. It's a chance to just be a kid.
Teen Advisory Board
We are seeking motivated teenagers in Jefferson County interested in making a difference in their community.
By joining this Teen Advisory Board you will have the opportunity to assist us in creating and planning fun, safe, drug and alcohol free events for teenagers; volunteer at fundraising events; be a liaison between Atlas and other teens; and help us understand the needs of teenagers in Jefferson County.
Chill Skills
This free six week group navigates through the various ways to cope such as through tactile means, movement, mindful eating, music, art, and self reflection.
Depression and Self-Esteem
This group is a free, six week course for teenagers to discuss their experiences with depression and to learn effective methods for managing depression and improves self-esteem by understanding and strengthening the many characteristics that create a positive self-image.
Understanding Anger
This group is a free, six week course for teenagers to discuss their experiences with anxiety and to learn effective methods for managing anger.
LGBTQIA+ Community Building
This is a monthly support group for teenagers in the LGBTQIA+ community to find support in a safe place. If you are in this group please complete this form and email us at info@atlasyouthoutreach.org
Healthy Minds
This group is a free, six week course for teenagers to better understand what steps can be taken for healthy mind-sets and improved mental health. Topics will include: Anxiety and stress, Self esteem, Self care, Healthy relationships, Emotional regulation/anger and Coping Skills.
Summer Program
This program covers several areas of mental health and best practices for nurturing positive and healthy mental health in ourselves. We do this through therapeutic discussions as well as activities including art, yoga, games and physical activity. This year's program will focus on self-esteem and identity formation. Each program will meet for one day a week, from 12:00 to 3:00 pm, for 4 weeks. Groups are for ages 11 to 13 as well as 14 to 18.
Healing and Loss
This group is a free, eight week course for teenagers to process the emotions they may be feeling around grief. Teenagers who have experienced any loss that is emotionally impacting them may join to better understand how grief works, how to experience grief in a healthy way, and meet other teens experiencing loss and grief.
College and Career Exploration
This group is a collaboration between Atlas and Jefferson College. It is six weeks long and will cover College Admissions, Financial Aid, and Workforce Readiness. Jefferson College will present at three group sessions. The other sessions will be used for discussion about concerns and anxiety regarding future college and career opportunities.
